About: Melanie Shearer is an associate professor of Medical Assisting with a background in clinical laboratory science. She worked from 1996-2007 in the clinical lab in positions ranging from bench generalist to laboratory technical manager.

Shearer is active in the American Association of Medical Assistants, where she has served as president of the Ohio State Society of Medical Assistants. She also received the 2022 AAMA Golden Apple National Excel Award for excellence in medical assisting education.

About: Catherine M. Bloor, RT (N), has 40 years of health care experience and is a tenured, full-time assistant professor of nuclear medicine.

She has served on national committees, including the Intersocietal Accreditation Commission as a board member, site inspector, auditor and reviewer since 2007.

Bloor is involved in many other professional associations, such as the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists, the American Society of Nuclear Cardiology on the education committee and the International Advisory Panel and is a reviewer for the Society of Nuclear Medicine Technologist Section.

She also directed and hosted Tri-C’s annual Nuclear Medicine Symposium for CEUs for local technologists. Bloor has published many articles, including the American Society of Radiologic Technologists (ASRT) Radiologic Technology Journal article, "Classroom to Clinic," and the ASRT Scanner column, "How To Overcome Shyness in Health Careers.”
